Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
One of the largest waterfalls on
Earth, Victoria Falls measures 1,708 meters (5,604 feet) wide, and 108 meters
(354 feet) high, and cascades down the cliff at a speed of 1,088 cubic meters
per second (mean annual flow rate). Victoria falls is about twice as high as
Niagara Falls, and falls just behind Iguazu Falls in height and width
worldwide. Flowing from the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls are an important part
of the economy, ecology, and culture of the region, helping not only with
tourism, but also energy production.
